People-Pleaser Self-Assessment Test

Here’s a simple self-assessment test designed to help identify the type of people-pleaser based on the characteristics and behaviors outlined. For each statement, respond with "Yes" or "No." After completing the test, tally your "Yes" responses in each category to determine your primary people-pleaser type.

Scoring Your Results:​ Count the number of "Yes" responses for each category. The category with the most "Yes" answers indicates your primary type of people-pleaser.

The Over-Achiever

  • Do you constantly seek validation through your accomplishments?

  • Do you often take on excessive work, sacrificing your personal well-being for praise?

  • Do you strive for perfection in everything you do?

  • Do you feel anxious if you don’t meet your own or others' high expectations?

The Caregiver

  • Do you prioritize the needs of others over your own?

  • Do you feel responsible for ensuring the happiness and well-being of friends or family?

  • Do you often neglect your personal needs because you're focused on caring for others?

  • Do you feel burnt out from always putting others first?

The Rescuer

  • Do you feel a strong need to save or help others in difficult situations?

  • Do you often get involved in others' problems, believing your worth is tied to being helpful?

  • Do you struggle to set boundaries when it comes to helping others?

  • Do you often feel overwhelmed by the weight of others' issues?

The Conflict-Avoider

  • Do you fear conflict and go to great lengths to keep the peace?

  • Do you avoid expressing your opinions to prevent disagreements?

  • Do you suppress your true feelings to maintain harmony in relationships?

  • Do you often feel anxious about potential conflict?

 

The Chameleon

  • Do you adapt your personality or opinions to fit in with those around you?

  • Do you often change your interests or beliefs to gain acceptance?

  • Do you struggle to identify your authentic self?

The Approval Seeker

  • Do you tie your self-worth to the opinions of others?

  • Do you constantly seek praise and affirmation from those around you?
